At Carly Press, sustainability remains an important focus across our business as we continue looking for ways to reduce waste, improve efficiency and operate more responsibly.
As a long-established print and signage business, we understand the importance of balancing high-quality production with environmentally conscious practices. From investing in modern equipment to improving recycling processes throughout our operations, sustainability is something we continue to develop across all areas of our operations.
Investing in Efficient Print & Signage Technology
Since 1982, we have continued to invest in modern print and finishing equipment to improve both efficiency and quality across our production processes.
Advances in technology allow us to produce work more accurately, helping to reduce unnecessary material waste and minimise reprints. Digital workflows also improve efficiency throughout production while allowing customers to approve artwork electronically before printing begins.
Our continued investment in equipment, including our Canon Colorado large-format printer and automatic flatbed die cutter and creaser, helps us maintain efficient production while delivering high-quality results across print, signage and large-format projects.
Recycling & Responsible Waste Management
Recycling plays an important role throughout our day-to-day operations at Carly Press. We work closely with trusted waste management partners across the South West to ensure materials are handled responsibly and diverted away from landfill wherever possible.
All paper and carton waste produced on-site is recycled and remanufactured by MJ Bowers, while ink tins and press parts are recycled through J&G Waste. We also operate a zero-to-landfill scheme in partnership with Devon Contract Waste.
Alongside this, we continue to review the materials and packaging used throughout the business, including the use of recyclable packaging materials and paper-based tapes to help reduce unnecessary plastic usage.
We also offer a range of sustainable print options for customers, including FSC and PEFC certified paper stocks and recycled paper choices, with our standard silk and gloss stocks containing 40% recycled material.
Supporting Carbon Capture & Woodland Conservation
As part of our wider environmental commitment, Carly Press supports both woodland conservation and carbon reduction initiatives.
We are proud participants in the Woodland Trust Carbon Capture Scheme, helping to contribute towards the planting and protection of native woodland across the UK. Supporting woodland creation helps encourage biodiversity while contributing towards long-term environmental sustainability.
Alongside this, we also support the World Land Trust’s Carbon Balanced programme, which helps protect and restore threatened habitats while offsetting unavoidable carbon emissions through internationally verified conservation projects.
Sustainability as an Ongoing Commitment
Sustainability is not achieved through one single change or initiative. It is an ongoing process of reviewing operations, improving efficiency and making more responsible decisions across every area of the business.
At Carly Press, we remain committed to continually improving our practices and investing in processes that support a more sustainable future for both our business and the wider print and signage industry.
