May is Local and Community History Month, a time dedicated to celebrating the stories, people, and places that have shaped our communities. For us, this month is especially meaningful — we’re proud to be celebrating 43 years of serving Wellington. Since opening our doors in 1982, we’ve been part of the local fabric, growing alongside the community we call home.

The Heart of a Community Is Its History

Community history isn’t just about old photos and archives — it’s about the connections, traditions, and resilience that define a place. Every family-run shop, familiar street corner, and long-standing business contributes to the identity of Wellington.

Being part of that legacy for over four decades has given us a front-row seat to the town’s evolution — seeing new families arrive, watching local events grow, and witnessing how neighbours support one another through the years. Local businesses like ours don’t just serve customers — we build relationships, contribute to the local economy, and help preserve what makes this town special.

What 43 Years in Wellington Really Means

Operating in Wellington since 1982 isn’t just a milestone — it’s a testament to community trust, consistency, and commitment. It means:

  • Serving generations of customers, from the kids of the '80s to their own children today

  • Creating local jobs and investing back into the town that supports us

  • Partnering with fellow small businesses to keep our local economy vibrant

  • Adapting to change, while staying true to our values and purpose

We’ve grown with Wellington, and we take pride in having played a small role in its larger story.

Looking Back — and Ahead — with Gratitude

As we celebrate Local and Community History Month, we invite you to reflect on the people and places that make Wellington what it is. Visit a local museum, support a neighbourhood business, or strike up a conversation with someone who’s been here a while — every voice adds to the rich history we all share.

To all of you who’ve supported us since 1982 — whether you’ve been with us from the beginning or just recently found us — thank you. We’re honoured to be part of Wellington’s past, present, and future.
